Player Pathway

Our player pathway is essential to what Ballinkillen GAA wants to achieve: beginning at an early age and helping players through the various age-groups, providing learning experiences and enjoyment so that they are still playing hurling at the end of their youth careers, and also prepared for the challenges they will face as they progress to adult club or county hurling.

Our player pathway helps emphasise the need for us all to work with the current group of players in any given age-group, but also to realise that we are part of a bigger picture contributing to the long-term development of players for future years so that they will continue to play and remain involved with the GAA.

Our player pathway is based on a pathway developed by Leinster GAA which has been carefully devised, based on consultation with experienced coaches, to ensure high standards in catering for the development needs of players at various ages.
